1 Hotel & Homes Melbourne sits within the Seafarers Precinct — a once-forgotten stretch of the Yarra along Melbourne's North Wharf, brought back to life with world-class hospitality and Seafarers Rest, 3,500sqm of riverfront parkland.
A SPECTACULAR NEW
RIVERFRONT SETTING
The precinct spans 220 metres of uninterrupted riverfront. Its design centres on the restoration and reuse of the heritage-listed Goods Shed No. 5 and its travelling crane — the only intact remnants from the days before containerisation, when the river was the city’s principal port.
Forming the ground floor of 1 Hotel & Homes Melbourne, the repurposed goods shed opens onto the wharf with hospitality drawn from Melbourne’s café, bar and dining cultures.
To its immediate east sits Seafarers Rest — 3,500sqm of landscaped waterfront parkland combining thoughtful placemaking with lush plantings, grassy berms and mature trees.
A green space unlike any other in Melbourne, it leads to the building’s soaring porte-cochère and its separate residential and hotel lobby entrances.
